All My Writing for 2015 So Far
It’s been a busy first half 2015. In case you don’t follow me everywhere (twitter is best for articles), I wanted to put together a quick roundup of all the writing I’ve done so far.

VOICE AND EXIT
Funny I’d been meaning to tweet you and ask something similar.
Your writing has grown by leaps and bounds, with some caveats.
The Gawker piece is probably your best to date. I didn’t recognize your usual “voice” which is a good thing because I’ve been reading you for years and can usually identify your pieces. I was brought to the article from REDEF and hadn’t caught the byline but then I actively sought it after reading and that’s when I realized you wrote it.
That said, it’s distressing to see you structure these articles like everybody else. You will lose yourself if you continue with these bite-sized-magic-bullet-solutions-to-all-problems-leading-up-to-your-next-book. Best you check back here now and then so we can keep you in check, because you did swear you would never become “one of those people.”
As a cautionary tale, take a look at the first years of Ben Casnocha’s blog and then compare to what his blog has turned into now. There used to be raw edges around Ben’s posts, it was messy, it was personal, it was expansive. Then he wrote a book with Reid Hoffman and got a column and the self-censorship began. I’ve stopped reading his blog because every post is now about positioning and signaling and I can tell he’s not writing who he is because he knows many “important people” are reading. Everything needs to seem consequential, everything needs to have a sheen.
Look at the last two years here and compare it with the year you had in 2007. Your last appearance in my Delicious bookmarks is a post from 2011. It’s been eons since you set our minds ablaze.
RETURN.
The is the way to kick things of in reading a well deserving content like this. Thanks for sharing. I also happen to check some cool looking jackets at Angeljackets. You should check it out too.. Regards Paul Anderson
Hey Ryan.
In your ‘I Just Turned 28’ article, you say “It’s not on you to fix these people or to convince them of anything. Make the facts available, make it clear what the expectations are. But it can’t keep you up at night.”
What are you talking about there, managing difficult staff?
Hey.. great post dear!!
